British geophysicist born in Norwick, England, on September 21, 1907, and educated at Clare College, Cambridge University. Bullard spent most of his career at the Department of Geodesy and Geophysics at Madingley Rise in Cambridge, named Bullard Laboratories in his honor, and as director of the National Physical Laboratory.
